Sometimes I'm driving in my car
And I look up to the sky and I start to cry
Cause all this movin' around me has got me thinkin' again
I can't help but think about where I've been
The clouds roll around all the trees I pass
And I'm moving so fast
I'll be at the same speed till I run out of gas
I was always comfortable in a different city
Lighting up the night sky, never getting to sleep
This vehicle I'm in, it rolls all around
I experience air conditioning while it's hot in the heat
I don't feel anything
I change my make-up for the windows around me
But these doors stay locked
And this powerful engine, it rolls on
I can't help but thinking
About each square of pavement
And all of the things it's seen - sitting still
Each and every car thats rolled over it's domain
I want everything, I want it all
So every day's another road trip away
I'll never see the big picture
Because I want everything
And that's just a picture of me
With the trees in the background
And the clouds in the sky
And a face thats seen everything
But what does that face mean to anybody?

A Powerful Engine

Um, just wanted to comment that this is kind of a feminist piece from the perspective of a whore. Just clarifying...
ReplyDeleteThe clarification made me laugh.
